Peshawar:
After the repair work is completed in the Torkham border immigration section, pedestrian transportation has begun for Afghanistan.
According to immigration sources, only passengers with visas and passports will be allowed to go to Afghanistan. The Torkham border was to be restored on Friday for pedestrians, but due to a malfunction in the immigration system, the rehabilitation of pedestrians could not be restored on Friday.
Immigration sources say armed clashes broke out between Pakistan and Afghan forces on February 21 and the firing of Afghan forces had damaged the immigration system.
On Wednesday, 25 days later, the Torkham border crossing was opened only to freight vehicles and patients. Immigration sources say an average of 10,000 passengers are transported on an average daily via Torkham border.
