US drugmaker Pfizer and its German companion BioNTech have pledged to offer as much as 75 million extra doses of their vaccine to the EU within the second quarter of 2021, the German firm’s chief monetary officer Sierk Poetting stated on Monday.
“We are working with pharmaceutical companies to ensure vaccines are delivered to Europeans,” the Commission President, Ursula von der Leyen wrote in a Twitter submit, as on Sunday, she held a digital assembly with the CEOs of vaccine producers, throughout which, she burdened the necessity to watch out for the brand new Coronavirus variants.
