PM Modi In Kuwait: Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the opening ceremony of the 26th Arabian Gulf Cup in Kuwait on Saturday (December 21) as the chief guest. On this occasion he met the Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Mashal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. PM Modi appreciated the organization of this football tournament and congratulated all the participating countries. Arabian Gulf Cup in which eight countries like Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states, Iraq and Yemen are participating.

This visit of PM Narendra Modi is particularly historic as it is the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Kuwait in 43 years. On the first day of his two-day visit, PM Modi addressed the Indian community in a special program called ‘Hala Modi’. He praised the contribution of the Indian community to global progress and stressed the potential of making India the “skill capital of the world”.

PM Modi interacted with the Indian community

Addressing the Indian community in Kuwait, the PM said that India’s talent, technology and traditions have created a special place in Kuwait. He also met a 101-year-old former Indian Foreign Service officer and two Kuwaiti nationals who have translated the Ramayana and the Mahabharata into Arabic. Apart from this, he also visited the labor camp of 1,500 Indian citizens and heard their problems.

PM also keeps an eye on upcoming meetings

According to the information, the PM will meet the Emir, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Kuwait on the second day of his visit. This visit is being considered an important step to further strengthen relations between India and Kuwait.
