Power sharing formula, PPP could not get anything in Punjab

Lahore:

After the general elections of February 8, 2024, the alliance of PPP and Muslim League-N is in power, but the paths are separate, PPP has got nothing but constitutional positions.

The warnings of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Governor Punjab Saleem Haider in power sharing and legal matters also did not work.

There is no coordination between the two parties with the Punjab government, there is no hope for the Muslim League-N in terms of power sharing even in the new year 2025.

After the general election of February 8, the PPP and the PML-N formed an alliance in the federation, under which the PML-N got the president, chairman of the Senate and other constitutional positions, while the PML-N took over the responsibility of the prime minister.

This power sharing was successful for PPP at the level of positions but in practice their influence on government policies was limited.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also expressed this to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif that PML-N did not meet his expectations. After assuming office, President Asif Ali Zardari visited Lahore twice while Bilawal Bhutto visited Lahore five times.

Several meetings of the PML-N and the PPP were futile regarding power sharing. Punjab Governor Saleem Haider, while fighting for the PPP in the province, also asked for separation from the PML regarding power sharing and also informed Bilawal Bhutto Zardari about the situation.

At the behest of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif formed a committee, but the result has not come yet.
