The PPP opposed the publication of the assets of the members of the Assembly, which amended the Election Act, stating that the speaker of the respective assembly would be determined instead of the Election Commission.
According to Express News, a major amendment to the financial statements of the MPs and the Provincial Assemblies has surfaced, considering the publication of the publication of politicians’ assets.
In Section 138 of the People’s Party Election Act, the MPs brought a large amendment to the Parliament, the PPP proposed to include a new paragraph in Section 138, which was presented by Shazia Murree and Naveed Qamar.
The proposed amendment states that excessive publishing of financial statements can damage the personal security and privacy of MPs and families, to maintain better governance and balance for the privacy and security of individuals.
The proposed amendment of the PPP states that the Speaker and Chairman of the concerned Assembly will determine the publication of assets of Parliament and Provincial Assembly.
