Prince Rahim Agha Khan appointed new spiritual leader of the Ismaili community

After the death of Prince Karim, Prince Rahim Agha Khan VI was appointed as the spiritual leader of the Ismaili community.

According to a statement issued by the Ismaili media, Prince Rahim is the 50th hereditary Imam of the fifth Ismaili community.

Born on October 12, 1971, Prince Rahim Prince Karim Agha Khan (late) and his first wife are the eldest son of Princess Salima.

He studied at Philips Academy Andore and graduated with Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Literature from Brown University in 1995.

Prince Rahim’s two sons are Prince Irfan (born 2015) and Prince Sunan (born 2017).

Prince Rahim Agha Khan has served on the boards of many agencies of the Development Network, while he has also participated in the Institute of Ismaili Studies and the community’s social work.

According to the statement, Prince Rahim is particularly concerned about AKDN’s environment protection and reducing the effects of climate change.

He has also focused on the work of AKDN and Ismaili community institutions to meet the needs of most poverty -stricken people and help improve livelihoods through education, training and enterprise.

Prince Rahim has been regularly meeting with government and international leaders.
