Punjab Cabinet Meeting: Important decisions including free travel for special people, elderly and students

The longest agenda items were approved at the 24th meeting of the provincial cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif and important decisions were made.

The meeting approved free travel facility for special persons, elders and students in Punjab, a proposal to issue a transport card for the students was reviewed.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif directed effective measures to reduce chicken prices, approved the establishment of Special Investigation Units for sexual offenses and directed to ensure measures to prevent rap incidents.

The principle decision was taken to build the airport in Bhakkar and Bahawalnagar, the construction funds for the air ambulance service in Bhakkar district were approved, the proposal for the launch of the Punjab airline service was reviewed, the chief minister ordered the traffic challan, the fine.

The meeting directed the adoption of a zeroetral policy on non -payment of traffic challan fines. The Chief Minister sought a plan for legal reforms.

In addition, 3904 posts were approved in Punjab Crime Control Department, approved the approval of recruitment on ad hoc/contract basis for the new cardiac center of Sheikh Zayed Medical College/Hospital, Rahim Yar Khan and approved the recruitment of key positions in Punjab Life Insurance Company (PLIC).

New recruits were approved in vacant posts in the specialized unit of the Finance Department, the establishment of 32 new posts for the Nawaz Sharif Center of Excellence for Early Child Education, the Children’s Library Complex Lahore.

The establishment of 2,000 Riot Management Police and the establishment of the Crime Control Department was also approved to tackle the riots.
