Ram Charan’s ‘Game Changer’ earnings allegation of fraud

There has been a controversy over the figures of the film’s box office collection in Indian cinema. The first-day earnings claims of Ram Charan’s new film ‘Game Changer’, which released on January 10, have been thrown into doubt.

The film’s producers had claimed that ‘Game Changer’ earned Rs 186 crore worldwide on its first day, making it the fourth biggest opening in the history of Indian cinema. However, according to experts and the South Indian trade industry, this claim is based on exaggeration.

According to a report by trade tracker Sekunlik, the film earned only Rs 51 crore nett in India on its first day, while the worldwide total was not more than Rs 80 crore. In comparison, the producers claimed Rs 186 crore, which seems far from reality.

Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma termed these figures as ‘fraud’ and said that this practice is tantamount to insulting the industry. Many experts agree with his claim and are saying that ‘Game Changer’ did not even cross the 100 crore mark on the first day.

Starring Ram Charan, Kiara Advani, and SJ Surya, the film’s controversies have left fans in awe.
