Ram Gopal Varma Cheque Bounce Case: The troubles of film maker and director Ram Gopal Varma do not seem to be getting any easier. In the check bounce case, the film maker has been sentenced to three months in jail by the Mumbai court. Seven years after a 2018 case, Mumbai Court has granted non-bailable warrant to the film maker.

According to Telangana Today report, Ram Gopal Varma has been found guilty under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act. Apart from the film maker spending three months in jail, the complainant will also have to pay Rs 3.75 lakh as compensation. If Ram Gopal Verma does not pay this amount to the complainant within three months, he will have to spend three more months in jail.

Ram Gopal Varma reacted when the court announced the punishment
Ram Gopal Varma has reacted to this matter by posting on X. He wrote- ‘Regarding the news about me and Andheri Court, I want to clarify that this is a 7 year old case of Rs 2 lakh 38 thousand related to my former employee. My lawyers are participating in it and since the matter is in the court, I cannot say anything further.

The matter mentioned in the post
In the second post, the film maker wrote- ‘This is not about the settlement of Rs 2.38 lakh. It was about refusing to be exploited in attempts to create controversy. Anyway, that’s all I can say right now.

What is the matter?
This check bounce case related to Ram Gopal Verma is of the year 2018 when a company named Shree had filed a case against the firm of Ram Gopal Verma. In the year 2022, the director got bail after depositing a personal bond and a security amount of Rs 5000.
