Rising rap star BigXthaPlug was arrested on a marijuana charge in Texas early Wednesday morning.
The 22-year-old rapper, a Dallas native, was stopped by police in Arlington for driving with expired tags at around 12:05 AM local time.
According to the Arlington Police Department, the officer noticed the smell of marijuana as they approached the vehicle and asked BigX and his passenger, Cleodist Landum, to step out.
Upon searching the car, officers discovered cigarettes, a green leafy substance, and a handgun in the console and passenger door pocket.
Landum, who is reportedly a relative of BigX, had an active felony warrant out of Bexar County. He was arrested on the warrant, as well as for possession of marijuana and unlawful carrying of a weapon.
BigXthaPlug was charged with possession of less than 2 ounces of marijuana and remains in custody at the Arlington City Jail.
