Roblox accounts hacked to help Donald Trump

Hackers have focused Roblox profiles to help Donald Trump within the forthcoming US presidential election.

Users of the web multiplayer sport complained their profiles have been hacked with the message: “Ask your parents to vote for Trump this year!” and “MAGA2020”, an abbreviation of Make America Great Again.

Roblox has greater than 100 million customers worldwide.

It is marketed at kids aged between 9 and 14.

Players have reported that in-game messages have been despatched from the hacked profiles to the account holders’ pals, urging them to help Trump within the November vote.

Hacked avatars have been wearing present in-game equipment which resemble gadgets worn by Trump supporters.

This features a crimson hat with “Running of the bulls” written in white, which appears to be like just like the Make America Great Again hats that the US president favours.

In addition, some characters are altered to put on a T-shirt that includes an American Eagle.

At the time of this writing, there have been greater than 1,000 profiles in Roblox that featured the phrase: “Ask your parents to vote for Trump this year!”

Some gamers have advised the information web site Bleeping Computer that they’re nonetheless capable of entry their accounts and may change their profiles again once more.

“A Trump supporter hacked my Roblox account and messaged my friends to vote for him,” one gamer wrote on Twitter.

“Why is my avatar this?” one other wrote with a photograph of their avatar. “I’m not even American.”

Roblox didn’t instantly reply to the BBC’s request for remark.
