
S jaishankar in muscat visit: Foreign Minister S Jaishankar met Oman’s Foreign Minister in Muscat on Sunday (February 16, 2025). Jaishankar is on a tour of Oman to attend the eighth Indian Ocean Conference. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar held a wide discussion on bilateral cooperation in trade, investment and energy security with Oman’s Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi in Muscat.
Jaishankar posted on ‘X’, ‘I was very happy to meet Oman’s Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi this morning. I appreciate his personal efforts in successfully hosting the eighth Indian Ocean Conference. He wrote, ‘We discussed widely on mutual cooperation on trade, investment and energy.’
Book release
The two leaders jointly released the symbol on the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations. He also jointly released a book called ‘Mandvi to Muscat: Indian Community and Shered History of India and Oman’.

Indian Ocean Conference organized
The Indian Ocean Conference is being organized by the India Foundation on 16-17 February in Muscat, the capital of Oman. Nepal’s Foreign Minister Dr. Rana has also reached to participate in it. Foreign ministers of more than 2 dozen countries have come to attend this ceremony. Apart from the Foreign Minister of Maldives, the Home Minister of Seychelles, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar ministers have also arrived to participate in this program.
What is Indian Ocean Conference
The Indian Ocean Conference is a major platform of the countries of the Indian Ocean to discuss the possibilities of regional cooperation for safety and development. Its process was started in the year 2016. The first program of the Indian Ocean Conference was held in Singapore in 2016 and the fifth program in 2021 in the United Arab Emirates.
