Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s fans love many of his films, but there is one film that turned out to be the biggest flop of his career and he himself would not want to watch it.
Salman Khan’s 2007 film ‘Mary Gold’ is a film that not only flopped badly but ended the actress’s career before it even started.
This romantic musical comedy tells the story of an American actress, whose life changes completely after she connects with India. Hollywood actress Ali Larter played the lead role opposite Salman Khan in the film.
Mary Gold was made on a whopping Rs 19 crore, but the film managed to earn a mere Rs 2.29 crore, which was only 12 percent of its budget.
The film was not well received abroad as well and only managed to earn Rs 1 crore. Preity Zinta was initially offered the role in the film, but after her refusal, the role was given to Hollywood actress Ali Larter.
Due to the film’s failure and heavy losses, not only did director Willy Carroll quit filmmaking, but Ali Larter’s Bollywood career also ended.
This is the reason why the film ‘Mary Gold’ is considered as one of Salman Khan’s biggest box office failures.
