Sarah Silverman Addresses Her 2007 Roast Calling Britney Spears’s Kids ‘Beautiful Mistakes’

After a fan particularly known as her out, Silverman responded to the backlash on Twitter. “I was known then 4 roasts. MTV asked me to mini-roast Britney after her big performance. While she was performing I was having diarrhea & going over my jokes,” she tweeted. “Had no idea she didn&apost kill. Unfortunate. Art changes over yrs as we know more & the world changes.”

Some followers had been nonetheless unhappy along with her response because it wasn&apost an apology. “While the world is beginning to wake up and apologize for the shit Britney has been through even if they didn’t have involvement but have a heart yet, you got a few laughs for your work and you can’t display growth over the years and SIMPLY APOLOGIZE?” one fan wrote.

Another tweeted, “You know a simple apology would be nice but at this point it wouldn’t be sincere since you’ve already made excuses. Regardless of you being known for roasts. You should know the fine line between roasting and bullying, especially targeting a young girl goring through stuff.”

Sarah Silverman later tweeted, “I wish I could delete it but I can&apost. But you are posting it for people to see. So r u trying to be kind or right?”
