Makkah: The season of Hajj 2025 has begun and this time Saudi authorities have made extraordinary arrangements to protect the pilgrims from the heat.
Saudi Minister of Hajj Taufiq al -Bariya said that this time the temperature could exceed 50 degrees Celsius, so the government has taken it as the first challenge.
According to the Hajj Minister, more than 40 government agencies and 2.5 million personnel are involved in the Hajj arrangements this time. Up to 50,000 square meters of shade places have been added. More than 400 cooling units are being installed at various locations. The number of medical staff has been increased so that immediate medical help can be possible.
In addition, drones and modern AI technology will monitor Makkah and a strict crackdown against those who do not allow Hajj.
Taufiq al -Bariya said that more than 1300 pilgrims died in 2024, of which 80 % were those who came on Hajj without permission and lost their facilities.
He said: “Hajj is a sacred duty, its protection and arrangements are our national responsibility. We urge all pilgrims not to come without a permit. “
