
Islamabad:
Election resolution on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Senate seats was rejected by a majority opinion.
According to Express News, a meeting of the Senate Advisory Committee was chaired by Chairman Yousuf Raza Gilani, which was attended by Opposition Leader Shabli Faraz, Minister of Legal Senator Nazir Tarad, Sherry Rehman, Irfan Siddiqui and others.
At the meeting, Senator Shibli Faraz submitted a resolution to hold elections in 12 Senate seats in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. All members except the MWM, which were discussed by the participants, opposed the resolution.
According to sources, all parties including the Awami National Party, JUIF, BAP opposed, the Advisory Committee exchanged bitter sentences with the committee members of the opposition leader Shabli Faraz.
According to sources of government members, it is the job of the Election Commission to hold elections.
Shibli Faraz said that representation of a province from the House of Federation is being eliminated, Balochistan is taking the Senate by -elections in Sindh.
He further said that the absence of implementation of Ijaz Chaudhry’s production order is an insult to the post of Chairman Senate.
