BIRMINGHAM: National sprinter Shajar Abbas carried on his astonishing run within the Men’s 200m semi-final to qualify for the ultimate within the ongoing Commonwealth Games 2022.
Shajar, who had an undesirable finish to his 100m medal expedition, continued to shine within the 200m class because the sprinter certified for the ultimate of the occasion.
In the primary warmth of the semi-final, Shajar amassed the ending line in 20.89 and completed third behind England’s Zharnel Hughes and Canada’s Brandon Rodney respectively.
Earlier in Heat 2 of Round 1 Men’s 200m, Shajar completed first and have become the primary Pakistani athlete to qualify for the Athletics semi-final after 30 years.
Shajar’s qualification to the ultimate of the occasion has strengthened the ray of hope for a fifth medal for Pakistan to date.
