Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib-ul-Hasan has been banned from bowling in the competitions under the English Cricket Board (ECB) due to a suspicious action.
The 37-year-old all-rounder has been under investigation for bowling action since the match against Surrey against Somerset in September.
An independent inspection found that Shakib’s action was bent beyond the 15-degree angle stipulated in ECB regulations.
A statement issued by the English board said that Shakib is ineligible to bowl in competitions conducted under the ECB until he passes the inspection of his bowling action.
It should be noted that Shakib Al Hasan was part of the side for the crucial match against title rivals Somerset and took nine wickets in both innings.
