In Pakistan, a new prediction has been made regarding the sighting of Shawal’s moon and Eid -ul -Fitr.
Every year there is anxiety among the public regarding the beginning of Ramadan and the determination of Eid -ul -Fitr. There are separate claims from different constituencies as to what date Eid will be. In this regard, Khalid Ijaz Mufti, Secretary General of the NGO Ravi Hilal Research Council, has highlighted the scientific and astronomical evidence of the birth of the moon and the rituals.
He cited the sighting of Shawal -ul -Mukarram in the country that Shawal’s moon in Pakistan is likely to appear on March 30, while Eid -ul -Fitr is expected on March 31.
According to Khalid Ijaz Mufti, the new moon of Shawal will be born at 3:30 pm 58 minutes on March 29, according to the standard time of Pakistan. According to astronomical principles, there are some basic conditions for the moon’s attitude, including the minimum age of 18 hours of the moon and at least 40 minutes between sunset and sunset.
He added that on the evening of March 30, ie, during the sunset of the 29th Ramadan, the moon will be more than 26 hours in all parts of Pakistan. In addition, the difference between sunset and sunset will be 69 minutes in different cities, 71 minutes in Karachi, 71 minutes in Giwani, 74 minutes in Quetta and Lahore, 76 minutes in Islamabad, 77 minutes in Peshawar and Muzaffarabad and 78 minutes in Gilgit.
Since this difference is far beyond 40 minutes, the moon will be easily visible on the evening of March 30, and Eid ul Fitr will be celebrated in Pakistan on Monday, March 31.
Sometimes when the moon is delayed, the next evening feels more thickness, on which people raise the question on social media whether the scholars have not eaten a fast? On this, Khalid Ijaz Mufti said that if the moon was seen on the evening of March 29, it would be only an hour and a few minutes, which is not possible to appear with the human eye, but when the moon’s attitude is a day later, his age reaches 51 hours, which makes it more bright and fat. That is why some people suspect that the moon is visible for 2 days.
Despite the sighting of the moon on a scientific basis and the obvious of astronomical evidence, conflicts arise every year. Khalid Ijaz Mufti explained that there are about 10 months in the Islamic months when the moon is visible on the same day, but this difference is more prominent in the months of Ramadan and Shawwal.
Saudi Arabia’s procedure is different from other countries, he said. The Saudi Ravi Hilal Committee announces “to be seen” after the birth of the moon, even after sunset. This is the reason why Saudi Arabia’s followers, such as Afghanistan and some Pakistani areas, are claiming premature moon.
Khalid Ijaz Mufti said that according to the Shariah, fasting and Eid should be kept and celebrated by the moon and it is not possible for the moon to be seen in Peshawar but did not come to Karachi, Quetta and Lahore, as the information in these cities is usually more clean.
Although Shawal’s chances of seeing the moon in Pakistan on the evening of March 30 are very strong, the final announcement will be made by the Central Ravi Hilal Committee. Eid -ul -Fitr will be decided all over the country according to the announcement of the same committee.
He made it clear that in the light of astronomical and scientific evidence, the moon could be seen in Pakistan on the evening of March 30, after which there is a strong possibility of Eid -ul -Fitr on March 31, but the people should wait for the decision of the Central Ravi Hilal Committee and celebrate Eid accordingly.
