The Sindh Education Department has decided to start the next academic session 2025 from 1st April and has reduced the syllabus of the current session by 25% and in the current session 2024, apart from the exams of the first class to the eighth class, the matric and intermediate annual exams will also be only 75%. Decided to take the percentage from the syllabus.
This decision has been taken in the context of conducting the academic session in Sindh from August 1 to April 1.
The decision has been taken in the sub-committee of the Sindh Education Department’s Steering Committee, whose regular minutes (Rodad) have also been notified on December 5.
In this regard, a meeting was held in the last week of November in which Secretary College Education, Secretary Universities and Boards, Director General Inspection and Registration of Private Institutions, Chairman Matriculation Board Karachi, Chairman Intermediate Board Karachi, Chairman Intermediate Board Mirpurkhas, Director D. CAR Jamshoro, Director School Education Primary Karachi, President Zindagi Trust Shehzad Rai, Tariq Shah Chairman Private Schools Management Association, Dr. Najeeb Memon School Association Hyderabad and others also participated.
The minutes released said that due to the change in the beginning of the academic session, the syllabi of all classes are being reduced by 75% and DCAR has been given the responsibility to maintain the reduced syllabi to the specified extent. will send to the school education department on December 15 and timely information in this regard will be provided to the students, board and other concerned.
According to the meeting minutes, the academic year in the colleges will start from August 1, 2025. The minutes said that the scholarship program in most universities is announced in August, so steps are being taken to save students’ admissions and precious years. In the year 2025, Class IX admissions will be held from March 1 to March 31 and classes will be held from April 1, while inter-year I admissions will be held from June 1 under the Central Admission Committee.
According to the minutes, the exams for class IV to VIII will be held from March 1 to 15, matric exams will start from March 15 and inter from April 15.
Under Centralized Assessment, matric results will be released by July 15, while that of Inter will be released by August 15. The 9th and 11th results will be released within 60 days of the release of the 10th and 12th results, summer vacations in the province will be from 1st June to 31st July while winter vacations will be from 22nd to 31st December.
