A total of 17,980 motorcycles have been seized by the Sindh government in crackdown against traffic laws so far.
According to Express News, senior Sindh and Provincial Minister for Information, Transport and Mass Transit Sharjeel Aam Memon gave a briefing on the crackdown.
He said that 1,295 operations were implemented against fancy number plates, tinted glass, and other illegal accessories while 308 heavy and light transport vehicles were seized.
According to Sharjeel Memon, the registration of 230 vehicles was temporarily suspended and released under specific conditions, the terms include technical improvement, fitness certificate renewal, and other factors.
In his statement, senior minister Sharjeel Aamiz Memon said that traffic irregularities threaten the lives of citizens, crackdown is proof of practical steps taken to protect the lives and property of citizens.
He said that violations of traffic laws are not just a minor offense but a threat to collective security. The operations will continue without discrimination, their violation will not be tolerated.
Senior Minister Sharjeel Aamiz Memon said that the campaign is just the beginning and more stringent steps will be taken in the coming days, cooperate fully with urban law enforcement agencies and refrain from illegal accessories.
