Sindh Government Debit, Big Decision against Credit Card Payment Restaurant

Karachi:

Sindh government has decided to take action against citizens against debit or credit card restaurants, shopping malls, coffee shops and biryani centers.

Sindh Consumer Protection Authority of the Bureau of Supply Price issued notices to Clifton’s Karachi Brust, Frontier, Meeting, Nahari and Desi Dera for not receiving payment from citizens from debit and credit cards.

According to DG Zahid Hussain Shar, Sindh Consumer Protection Act 2014 has taken strict notice of violation of 2014 and has begun action against these businesses. Restaurants across the province including Karachi are not providing payment to consumers through debit or credit card.

Zahid Hussain Shar said that the Sindh government has taken notice of the matter under Section 23 (4) of the Authority on public complaints, which has begun inquiry to take proper legal action on this serious violation and provide relief to consumers.

Assistant Director Mir Shahnawaz said that the concerned businesses are strictly instructed to stop the violation immediately, personally or in the office of the authority through their competent representative to respond to this notice.

Mir Shahnawaz said that in the absence of present, strict legal action would be taken against them under the relevant law. It is the responsibility of the businesses to provide different methods of payment to consumers and will not be tolerated in any shortage.
