Sonu Sood had received offers to become CM or Deputy CM.
In an interview given to Humans of Bombay, Sonu Sood revealed that he received offers to become the Chief Minister or Deputy Chief Minister. He said, “I was also offered the post of Chief Minister. When I refused, he said, ‘Then become Deputy CM.’ These were very influential people of the country, who even offered me a seat in the Rajya Sabha.”
The actor further said, “He told me, ‘Join the membership of Rajya Sabha and join us; you do not need to fight for anything in politics.’ This is an exciting phase when such powerful people want to meet you and encourage you to bring change in the world. Regarding these offers, Sonu Sood said, “When you start gaining fame, you start getting success in life. Start rising. But the level of oxygen is low, but it is important that how long can you stay there? Many big artists of your industry dream of achieving this. don’t even see Can and you are denying?
Why did Sonu Sood refuse to join politics?
Sonu also revealed why he had refused to join politics. He said, “People come into politics for two reasons, one to earn money or to gain power. I have no interest in it. If it’s about helping people, I’m already doing that. Right now I don’t need to ask anyone. If I want to help someone, no matter their caste, language or religion, I do it on my own. Tomorrow, I may be accountable to someone else, and that scares me. I am afraid of losing my freedom.”
Sonu Sood is not ready to join politics yet
Acknowledging the privileges that come with political positions, Sonu said, “I will get high security, a house in Delhi and an important post. Someone told me that I would have a letterhead with the government seal, which has a lot of power. I said, ‘That sounds great, and I love listening to it.’ But I am not ready yet. Maybe after a few years, I’ll feel differently. Who knows?”
Sonu Sood wants to continue acting and directing
Sonu Sood is preparing for the release of his upcoming film Fateh. Expressing his deep love for cinema, he said, “There is still an actor-director inside me. I love this world. I love movies. Maybe when I feel I have done enough here, I will think of something else but for now, I am an actor and I will continue acting and directing.
