Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif directed strict action against elements involved in human trafficking and sending innocent Pakistanis abroad illegally and called for a report of all such incidents worldwide in the last one year, while taking action against elements involved in such crimes. I have also directed action against the officials involved in the slowdown.
The Prime Minister presided over the meeting regarding the deaths of Pakistanis in the boat capsizing accident in Greece and prevention of human trafficking.
In 2023, 262 Pakistanis lost their lives in a tragic incident in the same area of Greece. The Prime Minister expressed anger at the slowness of action against such elements after the 2023 boat capsizing accident.
The Prime Minister said that human trafficking is a cause of worldwide infamy for Pakistan and concrete steps are needed to stop it. .
Prime Minister directed immediate implementation of IBMS system. In the meeting, the prime minister was briefed on human trafficking and the measures taken to prevent it, in which it was stated that 174 cases have been presented in the court so far, out of which 4 have been punished.
The Prime Minister sought details of the public awareness campaign in this regard and directed the FIA, Ministry of External Affairs to submit a report on all such incidents involving Pakistanis in the last one year.
The Prime Minister also directed to increase cooperation with international organizations in this regard, so that such incidents can be prevented in the future.
Apart from this, Azi reached Cairo on an official visit to Egypt along with the delegation to participate in the 11th summit meeting of the eight countries.
Egypt’s Minister of Public Business Sector Mohammad Shami and the staff of the Pakistani Embassy in Cairo welcomed the Prime Minister at the airport. On the occasion of the summit, the Prime Minister is expected to hold bilateral meetings with the participating leaders.
