Supreme Court Order: Sindh Cabinet approves abolition of death quota from government jobs

The Sindh Cabinet has approved the abolition of death quota from government jobs in the light of the Supreme Court order.

According to Express News, a 5-hour long cabinet meeting was held under the chairmanship of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in which important decisions were taken. To solve the problem of denial of admission to mildly autistic children in general public and private schools, the Sindh Cabinet approved the establishment of Directorate of Inclusive Education and implementation of the Supreme Court orders on death quota.

The Cabinet approved the establishment of Sindh People’s Rural Civic Services Company to provide clean water and sanitation facilities to the rural population. Its aim is to provide clean water and sanitation facilities to 61 percent of Sindh’s population living in rural areas. The World Bank will provide 400 million dollars to work for this purpose in Tharparkar, Umarkot and Mirpur Khas districts.

The Sindh Cabinet approved the change in the procedure of appointment of Vice Chancellors. A committee was formed to check the problems and shortcomings in the education boards. According to the Sindh Chief Minister’s spokesman, the committee will make recommendations to improve the performance of education boards. Education Minister, Chief Secretary and Secretary University and Board are included in the cabinet committee.
