Islamabad:
Review appeals filed against the decision to give specific seats in the Supreme Court to the Pakistan Tehreek -e -Insaf (PTI) were fixed for hearing.
Review appeals on July 12, 2024 to give specific seats to PTI have been fixed in the Supreme Court Constitution Bench.
A 13 -member constitutional bench, headed by Justice Aminuddin, will hear petitions for review of the decision of the specific seats on May 6.
The bench includes Justice Jamal Mandokhel, Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar, Justice Aisha Malik, Justice Hassan Azhar Rizvi, Justice Musarrat Hilali, Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan, Justice Aqeel Abbasi, Justice Shahid Bilal Hassan, Justice Hashim Kakar, Justice Salahuddin and Justice Salahuddin.
It is to be remembered that on July 12, 2024, 8 judges Justice Mansoor Ali Shah, Justice Muneeb Akhtar, Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar, Justice Aisha Malik, Justice Athar Manullah, Justice Hassan Azhar Rizvi, Justice Shahid Waheed and Justice Irfan Saadat gave the decision to give a special seat to PTI.
The Sunni Unity Council approached the Supreme Court to achieve specific seats, but the decision was given to give specific seats to the PTI.
The Election Commission, the parties involved in the ruling coalition, Pakistan Muslim League -N, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Jamiat Ulema -e -Islam (JUI) have filed revised appeals against this Supreme Court decision.
