Syrian President Bashar al-Assad died in a mysterious plane crash while reportedly fleeing

The plane in which Syrian President Bashar al-Assad fled the country lost contact with the radar.

According to the international news agency, it is suspected that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad died in a plane crash.

After fleeing the country, his plane took an unusual turn before disappearing from radar, Reuters reported.

According to data from the FlightRadar website, a Syrian Air plane took off from Damascus Airport when rebels seized the capital.

The plane initially headed for the Syrian coastal region, a stronghold of Bashar al-Assad’s Alawite sect, but then suddenly turned around.

The aircraft continued to fly in the opposite direction for several minutes before disappearing from radar.

Reuters could not immediately confirm who was on board. However, two sources in Syria said it was highly likely that Bashar al-Assad died in a plane crash.

Sources further said that it was a mystery why the plane suddenly took a U-turn and disappeared from the radar.

It should be remembered that Bashar al-Assad escaped from Damascus International Airport on the morning of December 8. He was brought to the airport under military siege.

After which the news reported that an explosion was recorded near the area where Bashar al-Assad’s plane was last seen.

Rumors are circulating on social media that the plane carrying Bashar al-Assad has been shot down, but this has not been confirmed yet.
