New Delhi:
The Delhi High Court has termed the comments of Indian Yoga Guru Ram Dev’s ‘Sherbet Jihad’ against the Spirit of Soul.
“This statement is a shock and unbeaten for the conscience of the court,” said Justice Amit Bansal during the hearing of the case in the Delhi High Court on Tuesday.
Earlier this month, Ram Dev released a video to promote Patan Jali’s rose syrup, stating that “a company that makes money by selling syrup builds mosques and madrassas, but if you drink Patan Jali’s syrup, we will make Gorocol and Patan Jali University.”
It should be noted that the sorbet spirit has been a very popular beverage in Pakistan and India for more than a century, while Yoga Guru Ram Dev’s company ‘Patanjali’ makes the syrup rose.
The video posted on Patanjali’s website also writes that ‘save your family and children from the poisoning of a toilet cleaner and cold drink in the name of sorbet jihad. Bring only Patanjali’s syrup and juice to the house. ‘
After his statement, the riot arose, after which Ram Dev said he did not name any brand, but the spirit -maker company Hamdard filed a petition against Ram Dev in the court which requested the removal of the video from social media.
Hamdard’s senior lawyer Mukul Rohhati said that it was a shocking matter that is not only insulting to the spirit of spirit but also causing a “sectarian division”. Rohtagi described Ram Dev’s words as a hate speech.
About Patton Jlee, Rohiti said it was a well -known brand that could sell its products to another brand.
Interestingly, Rohitagi also represented in the previous case of the founders of Patan Jali when Patan Jali claimed to have cured a medicine that was fixed by the Indian Medical Association.
In the Delhi High Court today, a proxy lawyer for Ram Dev requested that he would like to postpone the case due to the absence of a central lawyer, to which Justice Bansal said that the central lawyer should appear till noon, otherwise a “very strong order” would be issued.
Later, Ram Dev’s lawyer Rajiv Nair appeared in the court and said that Ram Dev was withdrawing ads against sympathizers.
The court ordered that Ram Dev should file an affidavit stating that he would not post any statement, advertisement or social media regarding sympathy products which would hurt sympathy.
The court ordered Ram Dev to file an affidavit within a week and fixed the matter for May 1st.
