The Taliban has taken full management of Afghanistan’s borders with Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, Russia’s protection minister revealed on Tuesday, noting that the terrorist group has promised to not move throughout both frontier.

“For us, it is important [to note] that the borders with Uzbekistan and Tajikistan have been taken under control by the Taliban,” Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu instructed a youth instructional discussion board on the outskirts of Moscow.

The Taliban, which is registered in Russia as a terrorist group, “promised not to make any attempts to cross the border and attacks on neighboring territories,” Shoygu mentioned.

Central Asia is a strategically essential area for Moscow, and Russia has traditionally been the world’s main energy. Both Uzbekistan and Tajikistan had been a part of the Soviet Union.
