India Bangladesh Relations: After the ouster of Sheikh Hasina from power, tensions between India and Bangladesh have increased. Meanwhile, famous Bangladeshi writer Taslima Nasreen on Friday (6 December 2024) strongly criticized Bangladesh’s changing relations with its neighbors India and Pakistan. He expressed concern over the growing relations between Bangladesh and Pakistan. By posting on X, he mentioned the 1971 war and told how India had helped Bangladesh.

Writer Taslima Nasreen wrote in her post, “The India whose 17,000 soldiers lost their lives to save Bangladesh from its enemy Pakistan, is now considered the enemy. The India which provided food and clothing to one crore refugees and houses to stay.” The country which provided arms and training to freedom fighters to save the country from the Pakistani army is now considered an enemy.”
‘Pakistan is an ally of rapists’
During this, Taslima Nasreen criticized Bangladesh’s relations with Pakistan. He said, “The Pakistan which killed 30 lakh people and raped 2 lakh women is now allegedly a friend. The Pakistan which is number one in producing terrorists is now allegedly a friend. has not yet apologized to Bangladesh for the atrocities of 1971, now allegedly a friendly nation.”
After the coup on 5 August 2024 in Bangladesh, many cases of attacks on Hindus have come to light. Amid worsening relations with Bangladesh, India’s Foreign Secretary will visit Dhaka on 9 December 2024. The Foreign Ministry said, in Dhaka, the Foreign Secretary will hold talks with his Bangladeshi counterpart, apart from this he will also hold several other meetings. Regarding the arrest of Sant Chinmoy Krishna Das, the Ministry of External Affairs said that India expects a fair, equitable and transparent legal process to be adopted in this matter.
