The US authorities has stopped approving licences for American corporations to export most gadgets to Chinese know-how big Huawei, in accordance with stories.

It comes because the Biden administration continues to tighten its rules on exports of US know-how to China.

Washington has beforehand accused Huawei of being a risk to US nationwide safety and of working with the Chinese Communist Party.

The firm and the Chinese authorities have repeatedly denied the allegations.

The US Commerce Department has instructed some American corporations that it might now not concern licences for US know-how exports to Huawei, in accordance with the Financial Times, which first reported the story.

The move comes as Washington strikes in the direction of a complete ban on the sale of US know-how to the Chinese telecom gear big, the paper mentioned.

“Working closely with our interagency export controls partners at the Departments of Energy, Defense and State, we continually assess our policies and regulations and communicate regularly with external stakeholders,” a US Commerce Department spokesperson instructed the BBC.

“We do not comment on conversations with or deliberations about specific companies,” they added.

Huawei declined to touch upon the stories.

The Biden Administration has continued to tighten restrictions on Huawei as political tensions between Washington and Beijing elevated over Taiwan, the place many of the world’s laptop chips are made.

In October, US Under Secretary of Commerce for Industry and Security Alan Estevez mentioned “the threat environment is always changing.”

“We are appropriately doing everything in our power to protect our national security and prevent sensitive technologies with military applications from being acquired by the People’s Republic of China’s military, intelligence, and security services,” he added.

For a number of years the Shenzhen-based Huawei has confronted US export restrictions on gadgets for high-speed fifth technology (5G) telecoms gear and synthetic intelligence know-how.
