A 20-year-old man from the UK has surprised everyone by going to work cleaning drains despite winning a lottery worth Rs 80 crore.
James Clarkson, a 20-year-old trainee gas engineer from Carroll, stunned everyone by winning the £7.5 million (roughly Rs. 80 crore) jackpot.
James’s win was quite impressive as he won £120 (about Rs 12,676) in the National Lottery on Christmas and used his prize money to buy more tickets.
James Clarkson’s star of luck is very active at the moment as the ticket he bought hit the £7.5 million jackpot. But the most interesting and surprising thing is that despite the reported wealth, Clarkson preferred to go to his old drain cleaning job and went on duty the next day to clear blocked drains.
James’s unexpected success has not only changed his financial future, but also highlighted his underlying attitude, as he expresses his intention to keep working despite becoming an overnight millionaire. This attitude of James is being appreciated.
“I woke up early to check the snowfall when I saw a message saying I had won on the National Lottery app,” James said, according to the International News Agency.
“I couldn’t believe it; I thought I was dreaming. It was still 7:30 in the morning, so everyone was sleeping. I wasn’t so sure, so I called my dad because I knew he would be awake. He asked me to come home calmly.
James got in line with the National Lottery to register a potential win first thing as soon as the offices opened at 9 a.m., where he confirmed that Clarkson had won the lottery.
Interestingly, however, despite such a huge win, James went back to his old job on Monday morning. “I will not stop working,” he explained.
“Some people may think this is crazy, but I’m not going to quit,” he added. I am still young and want to qualify as a heating engineer.”
“I need a purpose in life,” James said, “and dad won’t let me work anyway.” “There are a lot of millionaires out there who still work and you need a reason to get up every day,” he says.
