
The Islamabad High Court rejected the bail plea of a 65-year-old woman arrested in a drug case.
Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani issued a written decision rejecting Shaheen Akhtar’s bail. The court rejected the bail plea of Shaheen Akhtar, a 65-year-old woman arrested in a drug case, and ordered the anti-narcotics court to complete the trial of the case in 8 months. The court said that the challan has been presented and the trial can be completed soon, the bail is rejected.
According to the decision, according to the ANF, during the search of the passenger van on a tip-off, hashish was recovered from the accused. The accused’s lawyer pleaded for bail on the grounds of old age and poor health. According to the lawyer, the accused is admitted to the hospital for treatment due to ill health. The ANF Special Prosecutor opposed the bail plea of the accused.
According to the Islamabad High Court, the ANF also presented the video recording of the recovery of hashish from the accused in the court. Chemical tests performed within 72 hours of marijuana recovery were positive. The case challan has been submitted in the concerned court on October 10. According to medical reports, the accused does not have any life-threatening disease and her treatment is ongoing. Treatment of the accused can be continued even during detention.
The anti-narcotics force arrested the accused Shaheen Akhtar while carrying 9 kg 600 grams of hashish to Peshawar.
