Islamabad:
The Constitutional Bench of the Supreme Court dismissed the notice of construction of grid station on the Karachi Green Belt.
The court said that the grid station was not constructed on the green belt but the grid station was constructed on a public utility plot.
Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar remarked that if the grid station is removed from there, will the residents of the area spend rockets in the park, removing the grid station will deprive the entire area of electricity.
Vakil K Electric said the grid station was constructed in 2004 and the plot was named as green belt, the plot earmarked for public amenity in the master plan of the society.
The lawyer society said that the plot was never earmarked for green belt.
