The Digital Pakistan Bill will be presented in the National Assembly today

Islamabad:

The government will present the Digital Pakistan Bill in the National Assembly today, after its approval, the National Digital Commission will be established to form the Digital Authority.

According to Express News, this bill will be presented by the Minister of State for IT Shiza Fatima today.

According to IT officials, the purpose of the Digital Pakistan Bill is to link land records, health cards, birth certificates and other records including identity cards with a system for which data from all government institutions across the country will be brought to a single platform. After the bill, any person’s ID, assets and current life data will be available in one place.

Under this bill, a digital authority will be established by establishing a National Digital Commission, the head of the commission will be the Prime Minister while the members will include the four chief ministers, concerned ministers, heads of the State Bank, FBR, PTA and NADRA.

Addressing the function of the National Broadband Network Forum, the Minister of State confirmed that the Bill will be presented in the Assembly today. Expected to be passed, the National Digital Commission will be set up after the passage of the bill.

He said that it is hoped that the opposition will support the Digital Pakistan Bill, a digital authority will be created under the National Digital Commission.
