Islamabad:

Former Chief Justice Jawad S Khawaja requested to stay the appeals against the sentences in military courts pending the decision of 26th Amendment and also filed a review against the penalty imposed on the previous petition.

According to Express News, a hearing was held on the intra-court appeal against the annulment of the trials of civilians in the military courts. Former Chief Justice Jawad S Khawaja filed a review petition on the fine order.

The constitution bench imposed a fine of 20 thousand rupees on Jawad S. Khawaja.

Justice (Retd) Jawad S Khawaja again requested to postpone the hearing on the military courts appeals and said that the appeals should be postponed until the decision of the 26th Amendment, the observation that my petition was declared unnecessary should also be deleted.

Earlier, Jawad S. Khawaja had filed a petition to stop the trial of civilians under trial in military courts, questioning the establishment of a constitutional bench pending the decision of the 26th Amendment.
