The Cork Commanders’ Conference strongly condemned the propaganda on the deployment of Pakistan Army during the Islamabad protest and demanded the government to stop spreading poison, lies and sowing seeds of social division in the guise of unrestrained immoral freedom of expression. According to the Department of Public Relations of Pakistan Army (ISPR), the two-day 84th Formation Commanders Conference was held under the chairmanship of Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir in which Corps Commanders, Principal Staff Officers and all formation commanders of Pakistan Army participated.

The forum condemned the ongoing human rights violations by India in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir while reiterating Pakistan’s unwavering political, diplomatic and moral support for the Kashmiri people.

The participants of the conference expressed solidarity with the Palestinian people and strongly condemned the ongoing atrocities in Gaza, while also supporting international legal measures to end the ongoing military aggression in Gaza.

The participants of the conference were briefed about the current situation in the context of external and internal threats. On which the participants also reviewed the operational preparations of the Pakistan Army to deal with conventional and non-conventional threats.

The forum made a comprehensive analysis of the ongoing counter-terrorism operations. The participants focused on operations against terrorists in Balochistan, particularly the BLA Majeed Brigade, and to identify terrorists, their facilitators and encouragers working at the behest of hostile forces to destabilize Pakistan. Determined to neutralize those.

The Forum expressed concern over the malicious propaganda against the Pakistan Army’s security of important government buildings in the capital and the provision of a safe environment to respected foreign delegations during their visit to Pakistan and legitimate deployment.

The participants said that this coordinated and pre-made propaganda reflects the continuation of nefarious intentions of certain political elements, aimed at creating a rift between the people, armed forces and institutions of Pakistan.

The participants said that God willing, such nefarious attempts of propaganda made with the help of external elements will never succeed, it is necessary that the government should stop spreading poison, lies and social division under the guise of unbridled immoral freedom of expression. Make strict rules and regulations to eliminate them and implement them.

The forum demanded that it is the need of the hour to identify those who spread fake news for political and financial gains and bring them to justice. According to the declaration, the participants of the forum also said that the Pakistan Army serves the country and the nation without any bias or political affiliation and will remain responsible for the security of the country to deal with all internal and external threats.

According to the statement, the participants said that any attempt to pit innocent citizens against each other and use violence as a weapon for personal gain will not be tolerated.

The forum also expressed concern over the indiscriminate use of Afghanistan’s territory against Pakistan by terrorists, particularly the Fitnah-ul-Khawarij, and said that it is in the best interest of both neighboring Islamic countries to focus on mutual development and gains.

The Forum demanded that the Afghan Transitional Government needs to take clear steps to prevent its territory from being used for terrorism.

The participants reiterated that they will continue to support all the socio-economic development efforts initiated by the federal and provincial governments for the welfare of the brave people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, who are standing bravely against terrorism.

The forum pledged to continue supporting government efforts in promoting economic growth, cracking down on illegal activities and ending the nexus of terrorism and crime.

At the end of the conference, the Army Chief emphasized the importance of professionalism, operational readiness and unwavering commitment of the Pakistan Army to tackle any difficulties and challenges faced to ensure the security and stability of Pakistan.
