The Indian Cricket Board’s bank balance is mind-boggling

The bank balance of Indian Cricket Board (BCCI), the current richest in the world of cricket, has reached 20 thousand 686 crore rupees.


According to media reports, in the year 2024, the bank balance of the Indian Cricket Board recorded an increase of 4 thousand 200 crore Indian rupees, while the total is 20 thousand 686 crore (ie more than 67 thousand 651 crore rupees in Pakistani rupees).

A major part of the BCCI’s revenue comes from the sale of media rights of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and bilateral series.

The Board of Cricket in India (BCCI) also receives the largest share of revenue from the International Cricket Council, followed by England, Australia followed by Pakistan.

In June 2022, the Indian board sold the media rights of IPL for a period of 5 years for Rs 48,390 crore.

During the next financial year BCCI is expected to earn 10 thousand 54 crore rupees while its budget is 2 thousand 348 crore rupees. Out of all this income, the board also pays a huge amount as annual grant to all the 38 states.
