The Islamic Ideological Council rejects the National Assembly and the Senate -approved bill to prohibit marriage under the age of 18.
According to the report, a meeting was convened today on the most important issues of the Islamic Ideological Council.
Chairman Dr. Raghub Hussain Naeemi chaired a meeting of the Islamic Ideological Council. The meeting considered the important social issue of underage marriage, the National Assembly and the Senate have approved a legal draft in this regard.
In today’s meeting, the Islamic Ideological Council unanimously rejected the National Assembly and the Senate’s bill approved by the age of 18.
The mandatory screening bill for Thalassemia, 2025, was part of today’s meeting’s agenda regarding the Shariah status of various projects/schemes by NAB.
In addition, the Lahore High Court decision regarding the seal in the case of Khalid. The Bill for the Prohibition of Children’s Marriage Bill 2025 for Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government sent the “Child Marriage Restraint Act” and the review of Muslim Family Laws (Amendment) Bill 2025 was also part of today’s meeting’s agenda.
