Pakistan has once again declared its support for the peaceful resolution of conflicts at the global level and appealed to Russia and Ukraine to end the war immediately through dialogue and diplomacy.
Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the United Nations Asim Iftikhar Ahmed clarified in an important meeting yesterday that Pakistan prefers dialogue rather than any military intervention because this war is having devastating effects not only on the affected region but also on the whole world.
Asim Iftikhar said in his address that Pakistan is a strong supporter of conflict resolution through dialogue and diplomacy.
“We have serious concerns about the Russia-Ukraine conflict, as millions of lives are at risk and infrastructure is being destroyed,” he said.
He demanded to ensure the safety of citizens and infrastructure in the light of international laws and emphasized that no military solution to this conflict is possible.
Both sides should take steps towards de-escalation and de-escalation, while fully supporting all negotiation efforts.
The statement comes as President Donald Trump this week approved a secret 28-point road map to end the Russia-Ukraine war, according to US media reports.
This peace plan is led by the US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, US sources said in the last few days that this plan has been developed in consultation with Russia.
