Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif met with the President of Azbaijan and discussed Pakistan’s support during the Indian aggression, including expanding bilateral relations.
According to Express News, Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif met with Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev in the city of Lachin, Azebaijan.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Chief of the Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi were also present at the meeting.
The meeting is a reflection of the growing relations between the two leaders and the countries. The Prime Minister congratulated President Aliyev and Azerbaijan on the occasion of Independence Day of Azerbaijan.
The Prime Minister said that Azerbaijan has an everlasting relationship with the people of Pakistan. The Prime Minister thanked Azerbaijan’s President Alham Aliyev for Pakistan’s irresponsible support during the recent dispute with India and praised his leadership and the public’s solidarity.
The Prime Minister thanked the people of Azerbaijan for its strong support during the Pakistan -India tension of Azerbaijan; Pakistan’s achievements in favor of India were celebrated in Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, the two leaders reviewed the full scope of bilateral relations and expressed satisfaction over political, economic, defense and cultural cooperation between Pakistan and Azerbaijan.
The two leaders reaffirmed their joint commitment to diversify strategic partnerships through investment in mutually beneficial sectors.
The Prime Minister said that the two countries have always supported each other.
Azerbaijan agreed to exchange delegations regarding the progress of investment in Pakistan. It was also decided in the meeting that the delegation level would be held very soon.
The Prime Minister said that holding the meeting in Lachin reflects the journey of Azerbaijan’s perseverance and rehabilitation, which has a deep symbolic and emotional importance for both countries.
The two leaders emphasized the importance of coordinating efforts to promote regional stability, mutual prosperity and principle stance on key international issues.
At the end of the meeting, the two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to deepen the Pakistan-Azerbaijan partnership and to work together to advance the common goals at the bilateral and regional levels.
