JERUSALEM:

The main highway has been closed as a result of the worst firefighters on the outskirts of Jerusalem in Israel and citizens have been evacuated and appealed for global assistance to control the fire.

According to a foreign news agency writers report, footage on local TV shows that the main highway from Jerusalem to Tel Aviv is in a fire and people are leaving their vehicles.

The report said that Israeli traveling on the main highway left the vehicles to avoid flames and fled and the mountainous area around the smoke was covered.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Italy and Croatia are expected to send three firefighting ships to control the fire.

The Israeli Foreign Minister said that after the worst fire in the forest, Israel also appealed to Greece, Cyprus and Bulgaria for help.

Local media reported that 120 firefighters and dozens of rescue service teams have been sent to the scene, as well as aircraft and helicopters are also trying to control the fire.

The Israeli military said its search and rescue forces were also cooperating in the operation.

Police said three communities were evacuated from the area and 13 people were injured while the casualties were not reported.

In the Israeli forest, a fire broke out at a time when the day was celebrated in memory of the soldiers who were fighting for Israel, and several schedules for Independence Day have also been canceled.

According to the report, the main event in Jerusalem has also been canceled due to the worst fire in the forest.
