With the onset of cold weather in Afghanistan, the country has been gripped by a new wave of acute humanitarian crisis, where poverty, hunger and lack of basic amenities have made life more difficult for millions of citizens.
According to Afghan media “Amo TV”, many Afghan families are unable to provide shoes, warm clothes and even essential food items for their children during winter.
According to the report, children in many areas are forced to live with bare feet and poor clothing despite extreme cold, while extreme poverty has added to the hardships of the citizens.
Some Afghans said they had no food, no water, and no warm clothes for their children.
Amo TV says that this situation provides a glimpse of the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan.
According to the United Nations data, this year around 20 million Afghan civilians are in need of aid and they need urgent humanitarian assistance.
The report also alleges that citizens’ lack of education, employment and basic amenities is exacerbated by the incompetence and corruption of the Taliban government.
