Federal Minister of Education Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui says that there is a need for intellectual revolution before social revolution in Pakistani society and this is a difficult task which education can make easier.
Addressing a conference on the topic of character building in Islamabad, Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, Federal Minister for Education Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui has said that character is more important than credentials. Rather, there is a loss of trust.
Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said that I am still under education even after becoming the Education Minister and if the “W” of “Vote” is added before this “Zir”, then he becomes the Education Minister.
Chairman HEC Islamabad Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad said that our youths are present in the world in different codes of knowledge against other nations. In the last three years, most of the scholarships of European universities have been received by Pakistani students.
COMSTEC Coordinator General Iqbal Chaudhry said that in our religion there is a lot of emphasis on training along with education and education is incomplete without training. In his speech, he referred to Imam Juma’s speech of Imam Raza’s shrine and said that the West removed the element of training from educational institutions through neo-demographics, which caused damage to Islamic societies.
It should be remembered that this conference was organized by the Association of Private Universities of Pakistan with the support of HEC Pakistan and COMSTEC in the context of youth training in universities, in which vice chancellors of universities of Islamic countries. And the researchers were also involved.
While presenting her research paper on the need for character building from the conference, Rector of Superior University Samira Rehman said that ignorance of the goal and wastage of time are the main motivations that hinder character building, while lack of determination of direction among the youth. There is an important problem.
He raised the question whether character building is being taught in our universities, it is necessary to have practical wisdom for character building in universities. He said that it is important to have a role model for character building and for us the character and life of Rasool Akram is the biggest role model.
German Deputy Head of Mission Arno Kirchhoff and Czech Republic Deputy Head of Mission Michaela Kurtova also addressed the conference while Dr. Abdul Basit President Association of Private Universities of Pakistan (APSUP) Federal Chapter delivered the welcome address.
