Doha: US President Donald Trump addresses a business round table in Qatar, announcing that the United States is ready to make the Gaza Strip a “freedom zone”.
He said there was nothing left to save in Gaza, so the United States wants to “do something good” there.
“I have seen aerial pictures, where no building is left, people are living under debris, which is unacceptable,” Trump said.
He added, “If needed, I would proudly say that the United States should handle Gaza and make it a freedom zone, where positive changes occur.”
Qatar, which has long hosted the Hamas political office, can be particularly controversial and globally debated.
