Two ladies arrested over Cheadle nursery child demise

Two ladies have been arrested over the demise of an eight-month-old child following a “medical episode” at a nursery.

Police have been known as to an incident at Tiny Toes nursery in Cheadle Hulme, Greater Manchester, on Monday.

The lady was taken to hospital the place she later died.

The two ladies, aged 35 and 34, have been held on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) stated.

The pressure described the demise as “heartbreaking”.

Det Supt Phil Duffy stated: “Our thoughts are very much with the baby girl’s family who are understandably shocked and devastated.

“We’re doing the whole lot we are able to to get them the solutions they deserve.

“Officers are continuing to work to establish the full facts and ascertain the circumstances.”

A spokesman for Ofsted stated the nursery, on Mellor Road, had been quickly closed and declined to remark additional.
