DMK youth wing secretary Udhayanidhi StalinDMK youth wing secretary Udhayanidhi Stalin was arrested in Nagapattinam on the second day of his celebration’s 75-day marketing campaign forward of the Tamil Nadu meeting elections due early subsequent 12 months. He was arrested at Akkaraipettai, a fishing hamlet in Nagapattinam,police stated. Udhayanidhi visited the village and interacted with the fishermen on account of the World Fisheries Day.
Earlier within the day, accompanied by former Tamil Nadu ministers KN Nehru, U Mathivanan, MRK Panneerselvam and others, Udhayanidhi undertook a ship journey within the sea with the fishermen.
When he returned to the shore, a police crew led by Nagapattinam Additional Superintendent of Police arrested Udhayanidhi for allegedly violating social distancing norms of the COVID-19 pandemic and for finishing up the marketing campaign with out permission. He was taken to a neighborhood marriage corridor.
Udhayanidhi, son of DMK president M Okay Stalin,had launched the celebration’s marketing campaign from Tirukkuvalai near right here, the start place of late celebration chief M Karunanidhi,yesterday.
He stated he launched into the marketing campaign to take the message of his father Stalin to varied elements of the state to finish the “darkness that has engulfed Tamil Nadu.”
Soon after kickstarting the programme, the actor-politician was briefly detained alongside along with his supporters on this district for allegedly violating COVID-19 norms, sparking protests in numerous elements of the state by DMK activists.
Speaking to reporters at Akkaraipettai, Udhayanidhi claimed the AIADMK was fearful concerning the public assist for the DMK and therefore it was attempting to stop the DMK from launching the marketing campaign.
Meanwhile, Udhayanidhi’s arrest sparked highway blockades by DMK cadre at varied locations in Nagapattinam district.
