In Amritsar’s leading Gurdwara “Golden Temple”, two people attacked people with iron rod.
According to Indian media, five people were seriously injured in the attack, of which 3 are reported to have been in critical condition.
Police say two persons have been detained at the scene, one of whom is an attacker while the other is auxiliary.
Police say the area was raped before the attack. Investigations into the attack are still underway.
The investigating officer said the incident occurred near the community kitchen or Guru Ram Das anchor.
The injured include two Swastaras (volunteers) who belong to the Shiro Mani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC).
