US Congress delegation meets Army Chief, praised the role of Pak Army in the fight against terrorism

Rawalpindi:

A US Congress delegation met with Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir and praised the key role of the Pak army in the fight against terrorism.

According to the Pakistan Army Department of Public Relations (ISPR), the Congress delegation met with the Army Chief in the GHQ, led by the delegation Jack Bergman, while Thomas Suzi and Honorable Jonathan Jackson were also among the delegation.

The meeting discussed various issues of mutual interest while emphasizing regional security and defense cooperation. The two sides reiterated the importance of mutual respect, shared values ​​and strategic interests.

According to the ISPR, the US Congress appreciated the key role of the Pak army in the fight against terrorism and also acknowledged Pakistan’s continued efforts for regional peace and stability.

The US Congress delegation also praised the Pakistani nation’s perseverance and its strategic potential.

The US delegation expressed its respect for Pakistan’s sovereignty and reaffirmed its commitment to promote bilateral cooperation in the fields of security, trade, investment and economic development.

According to the statement, Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir thanked the delegation for his visit and said that Pakistan wanted to make the long -standing partnership with the United States more stable and diverse. These relations are based on mutual interests and respect for national sovereignty.

According to the ISPR, Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was also signed for training cooperation in the field of information technology.
