US decides to merge Palestinian diplomatic affairs at an Israeli -based embassy

WASHINGTON:

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has decided that the office for Palestine has been decided to integrate with its embassy in Jerusalem.

According to a foreign news agency Reuters report, State Department spokesman Timi Bruce said Foreign Minister Marco Rubio has decided that the office set up for relations with Palestine and other matters will be integrated with the US Embassy in Jerusalem.

The US office of Palestinian Affairs will now report to US Ambassador to Israel Mike Hokkibi, Timi Bruce said.

He said that other matters of the office for Palestinian relations with Palestine will be merged in the coming weeks.
